Security - Dashboards and Dashparts | This setting controls the role's ability to create and edit dashboards and dashparts. Select one of the following options:
Dashboards | Use the Dashboard form to view business information, create and modify dashboards with dashparts, and assign user access to each dashboard to fit your needs. Your personalized Dashboard brings together all of the Vantagepoint information and tools that you rely on most. Dashboard content is divided into individual dashparts that can be easily managed. A dashpart is a chart or table that provides visual indicators of your project's key information, enabling you to track how your project is trending and identify any areas that might need attention. Dashparts provide access to specific hub records, company data, and activities. The standard dashparts include My Activities, a Pipeline chart, and an Upcoming Milestones chart. In addition to these standard dashparts, your administrator can create and edit other pre-defined dashparts and dashboards. |
Dashboard List | This section displays the available dashboards in the Navigation pane:
Import/Export | Click this option to display the Import/Export Dashparts dialog box. Use the dialog box to import an existing dashpart file with the .DPT file format and add it to the Dashpart Library, or export an existing dashpart from the Dashpart Library as a .DPT file. The same dashparts requirements are applied to successfully import dashparts. Appropriate access rights and the corresponding Vantagepoint modules needs to be enabled to successfully import the dashpart you are trying to import. Newly imported dashparts are displayed in the Dashpart Library with a slightly darker row color for 48 hours to differentiate it from other dashparts. |
Dashpart Library | Click this option to display the Dashpart Library pane, where all available dashparts are listed and organized based on currently used dashparts in the dashboard you are editing under Used Dashparts, and other available dashparts under Available Dashparts. You can expand or collapse these lists by using the expand and collapse arrows at the right side. The following icons represent dashpart types in the Dashpart Library:
Dashpart Designer | Use the Dashpart Designer form to modify existing dashparts or to configure new dashparts. The Dashpart Designer form displays when you edit a dashpart while the Edit Mode option is enabled in the Dashboard form. To return to the Dashboard form while you are working on the Dashpart Designer form, click on the left side of the Dashpart Designer form label. |
Dashpart Base | Select the base to use as a reference for the dashpart that you want to create. Once you select the base, you cannot change it. Possible options are:
Dashpart Type | Select one of the following options to create the corresponding dashpart type:
You can switch between these two dashpart types. When you change the dashpart type, the Dashpart Designer updates the dashpart based on the type. Therefore, some customization may be lost. To keep the customization for a dashpart, create a copy of that dashpart and change the type in the copy, so that you do not affect the dashpart type and any customization specified in the original dashpart. Whether or not this field is displayed depends on the dashpart base type that you select. |
