The core idea of Maconomy Power Launch is to deliver a fully pre-configured solution to your company, where we have thought about how you are going to work based on 30 years of experience and hundreds of implementations.

Think of Power Launch as a starting point for your implementation. It’s not a rigid solution that locks everything down and allows no flexibility. You can decide how much of the starting point you want to use. If you use it all, we will just need your data to set up the solution and we are ready to train you. In most cases, this best practice meets up to 90% of your requirements. You can then configure or extend the last 10% to meet your full satisfaction.

When we follow the baseline of our model we bring you from start to fully implemented in 15 overall steps. There will of course be other tasks to be completed, but the model below give you a good idea of what the steps are from we start till you start getting the full value of your solution.

Step 1 - Customer Environments Delivered

Deltek ensures we get your solution ordered and setup in our cloud environment. This is not only 1 solution, but actually 4 solutions for both setup, test, support and live usage. We use a template and check-list together with our cloud operations team to ensure the full solution is delivered with the pre-configured setup and even sample demo data so we can start training you on how it works.

Step 2 - Project Planning & Kick Off Meeting

Delteks project manager has met with your project manager to go through the steps and agree on team, plan and deadlines. We now host a project kick-off meeting for the full team on both sides to understand the scope – objectives – team and we host some of the key activities in the project. We follow a standard project plan and kick-off presentation to ensure we cover it all.

Step 3 - Solution Overview Training

We now truly start the implementation and we provide you a 2 day overview training of the solution and you are supposed to be present with the full team from your side that will be part of the implementation – and thereby we ensure that all is brought up to the same full understanding of the standard solution and have this holistic view of the solution. We follow our standard solution and presentation to show the solution, but obviously adjusted to your scope of implementation.

Step 4 - Solution Validation Workshops

We move on to hosting the solution validation workshops. For each area in the solution we provide an overview of standard processes, roles and reports and we ensure we take decisions on the setup and setup related data that is still open for changes to provide you a full solution, and that you need to provide to us. The key part is that we have the right people in the room to take the decisions if things turn up that we need to further enhance the solution with to meet your business requirements, these will appear during these sessions – and can lead to specific design workshops and a sub-sequent change request to the solution.

Step 5 - Data Conversion Strategy & Training

We use our standard data conversion strategy presentation to present to you how we do data conversion as part of this implementation. We also train you in how to use our data conversion tools to deliver the data and how to upload and test how it’s working. We are training you in order to be able to host and manage the data conversion, but we provide services to assist you during the process.

Step 6 - Apply Business Decisions in Configuration

Based on the solution validation workshops and the data provided from you as a customer around the setup, Deltek will now have the information to configure the first version of your full solution

Step 7 - Master & Transactional Data Load

Based on the data conversion tools provided to you it is now your job to deliver a first version of data based on the defined data conversion strategy and upload it into the test system so that we can verify that the data conversion is working and we have your data in the solution for the first build and for your full verification of the solution. Deltek is obviously available to assist.

Step 8 - Super User & Verification Training

Deltek will now teach your super users in your first full version of the solution including your data. We will teach you and provide you training material so that you can teach your end-users. As part of this training we will now also ask you to verify and test that the solution is working as intended and we provide you the test scripts to do so.

Step 9 - Solution Validation & Update Changes

As you were properly trained in the previous step it is now time for you to fully control that all things are tested. Any findings will be documented by you – and Deltek will be responsible for adjusting the solution. Some of the changes might be related to the data conversion you are delivering and therefore for yourself to fix.

Step 10 - Clean and Deliver All Data

Where the previous steps ensure all data conversion was working your job is now to deliver all master and transaction data in a fully cleansed format for the go live solution.

Step 11 - Live Configuration

Deltek will now apply the full configuration based on all previous steps and conclusions into the live production solution.

Step 12 - Master & Transactional Data in Production

All the data that was cleaned and delivered in step 10 will now be uploaded into the Live production environment. Deltek will assist you with this task, but it’s your job to ensure you that data is correct and cleansed.

Step 13 - End User Training

As we are now getting closer to go live it is time for you to train your end-users. Material, online training and actual training of your super users were done in step 8, and it’s now your job to execute the training of your end-users. We have provided the tools for you to do it – and you execute. We recommend all end-user training to be conducted in a role based manor and that’s how we have provided the tools to support you.

Step 14 - Solution Available for All End Users

The solution is now live and you can start using the solution. We recommend you to have a plan for how your super users are available to help them. That can i.e. be daily open time slots where they can join you in meeting rooms or similar setup. Also remember to celebrate and communicate about the go live and again about why this change is happening.

Step 15 - Go-Live & First Month End Support

Deltek will be available throughout the whole first month with support and especially around the first month end to ensure that processes are running smooth with key areas like month-end, revenue recognition, invoicing, reporting etc. – before we then finally hand it over to our customer care team and close the project officially.
