Transfer Timesheets

Transfer Timesheets moves exported timesheet records by Batch ID into the JD Edwards Enterprise One staging table for downstream payroll and labor processing.

Transfer Timesheets moves previously exported timesheet records to a third-party staging table by Batch ID. The current version supports the JD Edwards Enterprise One format. After a Batch ID is transferred, its records are deleted from the source table to prevent double processing. Run this utility after Export Timesheets when JD Edwards is the downstream system.

Prerequisites

  • Timesheets already exported through the Export Timesheets screen
  • The target Batch IDs available in the EXPORT_LABOR table
  • JD Edwards Enterprise One target table accessible from Time & Expense
  • Confirmation that downstream JD Edwards processing has not already consumed the batch

How to Open

Go to Time & Expense > Time Utilities > Transfer Timesheets.

Steps

  1. Confirm the Format field shows Enterprise One. This is the only supported format.
  2. Review the Batch ID list. The list contains all batch IDs in the EXPORT_LABOR table in alphabetical order.
  3. Select one or more rows by clicking the check box on the left of each row.
  4. To select all batches, click the check box in the upper-left corner.
  5. Click the execute control to transfer the selected batches.
  6. Verify the records appear in the JD Edwards target table.
  7. Confirm the transferred Batch IDs no longer appear in the EXPORT_LABOR table.

Common Use Cases

  • End-of-period transfer: Move the period's exported batches to JD Edwards after the export run.
  • Selective transfer: Move one batch at a time when troubleshooting a specific export.
  • Re-export workflow: Transfer one Batch ID, validate it in JD Edwards, then continue with remaining batches.
  • Catch-up run: Transfer accumulated batches when a scheduled transfer was missed.

Best Practices

  • Coordinate with the JD Edwards admin before each transfer. Records are deleted from the source after transfer.
  • Verify each Batch ID in JD Edwards before deleting it from your records. Once cleared, the source data is gone.
  • Reference the JD Edwards Data Mapping Table when validating transferred fields.
  • Run during a JD Edwards window where the target table is not actively being read for processing.
